Definition of Say cheese
Say cheese is an instruction given by photographer to prepare the subjects for the photograph. It normally results in a photograph full of cheesy grins and should be avoided. Nowadays, when you say “say cheese” you’re basically saying “I’m about to take a photograph”.
Examples of Usage of Say cheese
Okay everybody! Say cheese! Bugger! The battery’s flat! Of the best photographers don’t need to use the old cliche “say cheese” because they know that a candid photograph will be more true to life.
