To say “it’s a dog’s life” is an expression used to say that you find life hard and unpleasant.
Examples of Usage of It’s a dog’s life
Up at six, two hours on the train to the office, eight hours in the office, two hours back home on the train, and no time to do the things I really want to do. It’s a dog’s life! I hate it when I hear famous actors or actresses complaining about their lot. I mean, it’s not exactly a dog’s life is it?
