The British Idiom – Grey area
Definition of Grey area
A grey area is the uncertainty between the certainties of black and white. Anything described as a grey area is uncertain.
Examples of Usage of Grey area
Patients in the gray area between unstable and stable are often transferred to other wards. This is hardly a grey area, is it? You either want it or you don’t. There is a fairly grey area lying in between that which we can call scientific and that which we would call unscientific.
