Definition of Dog eat dog
When people are trying to get to the top in a profession or some other area of life and will do anything to get to the top, even if they harm others to do so, we call this situation dog eat dog.
Examples of Usage of Dog eat dog
From what I hear, show business is a dog eat dog world. I’m glad I’m an English teacher. Of course he’s taken credit for all your hard work. He’s the boss and he doesn’t give a shit about you or anybody else. It’s dog eat dog in this company.
